PORT DICKSON: Police are looking for four more individuals to assist in investigations into the kidnap-cum-murder of a 39-year-old man from Bandar Springhill near here.
Port Dickson police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said police had detained two suspects in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 14 after the victim’s wife lodged a report.
The victim, he said, was allegedly abducted from his home around 5.40am on Nov 13 by a group of men impersonating as policemen.
However, police received information later in the day that the victim had been pronounced dead by medical personnel at Selayang Hospital in Kuala Lumpur about 9.45am the same morning.
Supt Aidi Sham said police wished to contact A. Davadas @ Deva, 41, P. Xavier, who is also known as Beckam@Bob, 42, C. Murugan @ Romeo, 40, and S. Panirselvam, 31.
Davadas and Xavier are from Rawang, Murugan is from Taman Selayang, Batu Caves while Panirselvam is from Taman Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.
He said one of the suspects arrested earlier is a 44-year-old man who had a criminal record with 14 previous offences while the other, a 43-year-old man, had two prior offences.
Supt Aidi Sham said the victim’s wife, who is a businesswoman, claimed that several individuals wearing yellow vests had arrived at the victim’s family home in a white van with the word “Polis” printed on the door.
“She said the men rang the doorbell and when her husband went out to ask why they were there, the men merely introduced themselves as policemen,” he said in a statement Monday (Nov 22).
The men then became aggressive and began forcefully pushing on the grille until it gave way.
The victim’s wife claimed once the men forced their way into the house, they told the victim and his 38-year-old wife that they were probing a robbery.
They then asked the victim about the loot he supposedly was in possession of.
When the victim could not give the suspects what they asked for, they forced him to follow them.
When he refused, they assaulted him and forcefully took him away.
Supt Aidi Sham said a post-mortem on the deceased showed that the cause of death was blunt trauma to the head.
He said police believe the motive of the murder was jealousy.
The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, Section 364 for kidnapping and Section 170 for posing as a civil servant read together with Section 34 of the same Act.
