JOHOR BARU: Police here have seized more than RM350,000 worth of drugs during a raid at a house in the city centre.

State narcotics chief Asst Comm Mohd Afzanizam Yahaya said four suspects were arrested during the 5.30pm raid on Dec 7, including two Vietnamese women.

“The suspects are two local males and two foreign women, all aged between 26 and 31,” he said

“All of the suspects have also tested positive for methamphetamine and ketamine and have been actively distributing drugs around Johor Baru since early July this year,” added ACP Mohd Afzanizam in a statement on Thursday (Dec 16).

He said that the syndicate’s modus operandi was to use a gated and guarded house as a store to keep and pack their drugs.

ACP Mohd Afzanizam then said that the group is believed to have received their supply of drugs from the north of Peninsula Malaysia.

The confiscated drugs are 4.4kg of ecstasy powder worth RM220,5000, 1.2kg of ketamine (RM68,805), 573 ecstasy pills (RM8,595), 410 erimin 5 pills (RM6,150), 3.1 litres of liquid ecstasy (RM47,250), 28g of mushrooms (RM1,400), and 11g of ganja (RM550).

“All of the confiscated drugs were worth around RM353,250,” he said, adding that the police also confiscated personal belongings and two vehicles worth RM97,750

All of the suspects are currently under remand until Dec 18, and the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug trafficking.
