JOHOR BARU: Two entertainment outlets that were operating during Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan were raided by police.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay (pic) said the raids took place between 11.05pm on Saturday (Oct 9) and 12.10am on Sunday (Oct 10) in Taman Mount Austin and Taman Cahaya Kota Puteri here.
“In the Taman Mount Austin raid, a total of 22 individuals were slapped with RM5,000 compound notices each while the manager of the establishment received a RM25,000 compound notice. This brings the total amount of compound notices issued during the raid to RM135,000.
“Meanwhile, 96 individuals were issued compound notices in the Taman Cahaya raid. Five were also arrested, including a woman managing the centre, three illegal immigrants and one man who has a wanted record under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
