KUALA Lumpur: The government has yet to make a decision on whether a state of Emergency will be declared in Melaka, following the dissolution of the state assembly, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister said that they had a Cabinet meeting on Friday (Oct 8) where the situation was discussed.

He said they would have to wait until Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah was briefed about the situation by the Attorney General, Health Ministry, and Election Commission.

“The Cabinet will wait for the briefing before making a decision. We are confident it won’t take too long,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the pre-launching of the Keluarga Malaysia concept at Angkasapuri on Friday (Oct 8).
