KUCHING: Bad weather has forced a helicopter ferrying caretaker chief minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to land at a field.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail confirmed that the helicopter landed at the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak field.

Aidi said Abang Johari and his entourage later continued their journey by road.

It is learnt that Abang Johari was flying from Gedong, where he is contesting for the seat, to Kuching.

Johari, who is Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) coalition chairman, is expected to gather with all the 82 candidates to await the election results.
