KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court here was told that former Penang Chief minister Lim Guan Eng asked for 10% of the profits made by Consortium Zenith Beijing Urban Construction Group (CZBUCG) from the undersea tunnel project.
Reading out his witness statement in court on Friday (Dec 17), Consortium Zenith owner Datuk Zarul Ahmad Mohd Zulkifli, 62, the 23rd prosecution witness, said he was shocked to hear the words coming from Lim due to his anti-corruption stance.
“From what I understood, the 10% would be from the profits my company made that I would have to give Lim for awarding the project to us.
“I agreed to his request, ” he said.
